The Australian Government is supportive of any dialogue with North Korea that has the potential to peacefully resolve tensions on the Korean Peninsula.

Most importantly, the dialogue must ensure North Korea abides by numerous United Nations Security Council Resolutions banning its nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programs.

North Korea has a history of making agreements and then failing to honour them.

The Australian Government urges the regime to engage in dialogue in good faith.
