Today we announce seven new Australia-India Strategic Research Fund (AISRF) grants to support cutting-edge collaborative research projects between Australia and India.
These joint research projects are focused on advanced manufacturing, improved disease control, and new medical technologies. The Australian Government is contributing around $7 million in funding toward these projects. The Indian Government and partners from research institutions and industry are also contributing more than $11 million to these seven projects.
Since its establishment in 2006, the Australian and Indian governments have together committed more than $100 million to the AISRF. The program has supported some 300 collaborative activities, including research projects, workshops and fellowships.
Australian recipients are BioQ Devices, Deakin University, The Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health, Monash University, Queensland University of Technology, The University of Queensland, and the University of South Australia.
The AISRF is Australia’s largest fund dedicated to bilateral science collaboration. It helps build links between Australia’s and India’s top universities, research institutions and the end users of scientific innovation.
