Australia-ASEAN Council Grants
Today I announce the recipients of 13 grants funded by the Australia-ASEAN Council (AAC).
The AAC generates opportunities for Australian business to work with partners in South-East Asia to deliver projects in the fields of education, trade and business, science and innovation and the arts.
These innovative projects will make an important contribution to building strong links between Australia and the countries and peoples of South-East Asia.
The successful projects include:
- Building links between women leaders working in the transport sector in ASEAN (University of Queensland);
- Forensic training for first responders (police and emergency services) in the management of victim remains (Victoria Institute of Forensic Medicine);
- Developing collaboration in radio astronomy (University of Western Australia) and the National Institute of Astronomical Research in Thailand; and
- Introducing contemporary Cambodian, Malaysian and Filipino artists as part of the 2016 OzAsia Festival in Adelaide.
