Australia Supports Joint Research Initiative with India
Today weannounce seven new Australia-India Strategic Research Fund (AISRF) grants tosupport cutting-edge collaborative research projects between Australia andIndia.
These jointresearch projects are focused on advanced manufacturing, improved diseasecontrol, and new medical technologies. The Australian Government iscontributing around $7 million in funding toward these projects. TheIndian Government and partners from research institutions and industry are alsocontributing more than $11 million to these seven projects.
Since itsestablishment in 2006, the Australian and Indian governments have togethercommitted more than $100 million to the AISRF. The program has supportedsome 300 collaborative activities, including research projects, workshops andfellowships.
Australianrecipients are BioQ Devices, Deakin University, The Florey Institute ofNeuroscience and Mental Health, Monash University, Queensland University ofTechnology, The University of Queensland, and the University of SouthAustralia.
TheAISRF is Australia's largest fund dedicated to bilateral science collaboration.It helps build links between Australia's and India's top universities, researchinstitutions and the end users of scientific innovation.
