  • Media release

I will visit Jakarta on 20 March to attend the HighLevel Dialogue on Indo-Pacific Cooperation, hosted by the Government ofIndonesia.

The dialogue is a valuable opportunity to joinIndonesia, other ASEAN members and partner countries, to discuss how all membersof the Indo-Pacific can better work together to promote an open, inclusive andprosperous region.

Enhancing our practical cooperation and seeking tobuild cohesion across the region serves to support security, stability andprosperity for all members of the Indo-Pacific.

I very much welcome Indonesia's leadership in hostingthe dialogue and its work with Southeast Asian partners to advance an ASEANIndo-Pacific vision. ASEAN sits at the heart of the Indo-Pacific.

During my visit, I will also meet with my New Zealandcounterpart, the Hon Winston Peters MP, and convey my condolences in person onthe shocking terrorist attack in Christchurch last Friday.
