High Commissioner to Kiribati
Today I announce the appointment of Mr Mark Foxe as Australia’s next High Commissioner to the Republic of Kiribati.
Australia and the Republic of Kiribati share an important partnership. Australia is the largest bilateral donor to Kiribati and has enjoyed 45 years of diplomatic relations, stemming back to Kiribati’s independence.
Australia and Kiribati will continue to work together to deliver on Kiribati’s key development priorities in education, health, social protection, critical infrastructure and economic governance.
As part of the Pacific family, Australia and Kiribati share a vision for a peaceful, prosperous and healthy region.
Mr Foxe is an experienced officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and was most recently Consul-General, Australian Consulate-General, Lae.
He has also previously served overseas in Papua New Guinea and Indonesia.
I thank outgoing High Commissioner Karen Bray for her contributions to advancing Australia’s interests in Kiribati since 2023.
