Ambassador to Morocco
Today I announce the appointment of Mr Damien Donavan as Australia’s next Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco.
Australia and Morocco share a warm and growing relationship with increased tourism and trade as well as collaboration in green energy solutions, agricultural innovations and joint efforts to counter terrorism.
Morocco has a diverse, open, market-oriented economy, and is the sixth largest economy in Africa.
Mr Donavan is a career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and was most recently Director, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Maldives Section. He has previously served overseas in the United States and Brunei Darussalam, and as an Australian Civilian Representative in Afghanistan.
