2017 Cultural Diplomacy Grants

TodayI announce the Australian Government will support 11 outstanding Australianarts and cultural organisations through the Australian Cultural DiplomacyGrants Program (ACDGP).

TheACDGP advances Australia's foreign and trade policy priorities by supportingthe delivery of high-quality initiatives that promote Australia's economic,artistic and cultural assets to an international audience and enhanceunderstanding of Australia.

The 2017 grants foster ongoing internationalcollaboration and support projects across Indigenous arts and culture,contemporary music, fine arts and architectural design. Projects will bedelivered in Europe, Latin America, North America, North Asia, South Asia, thePacific and Australia.
Successful2017 ACDGP initiatives include:

  • The Substation's project to createopportunities for Australian and UK artists to experiment with the latestin visual sonic technology and innovative creative tools;
  • The international tour to Japan of the South AustralianMuseum's Yiḏaki exhibition in partnership with the National Museumof Australia, promoting Australia's Indigenous culture to a globalaudience;
  • MPavilion's 2017 International Program bringingtogether leading architects and design thinkers from Australia and theNetherlands; and
  • A Sounds Australia trade mission helping Australiancontemporary music acts build their export potential and form partnershipsin Latin America.
